Since 1936, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris has published the "International Rules for the Interpretation of Commercial Terms of Contract". These are known as "Incoterms®". Since their publication, the regulations have repeatedly been adapted to current trading conditions
A new version has come into force on the 1st January 2020.
Set by the ICC, Incoterms are the "rules for the use of domestic and international trade terms"*. It is therefore vital that both buyers and sellers fully understand the implications of Incoterms on the liability of both insurance and cost. With its first update since 2010, the new Incoterms 2020 have changed substantially, so we strongly recommend you take time to read our Incoterms brochure which illustrates the liability of each party when shipping.
