Rhenus Svoris Company moves into a new logistics centre in Vilnius with an area of 12 thousand m2

After the construction that has lasted for slightly more than a year, one of the largest logistics complexes was opened. In the logistics centre with an area of 12 thousand m2, the German capital company Rhenus Svoris under the management of one of the largest concerns in Europe Rhenus Logistics was established. The owner of the building – the Norwegian company Baltic Sea Property AS that has invested into the construction of the centre.

The beginning of operation of the newly built logistics centre was proclaimed by the Minister of Transport and Communications Rokas Masiulis, Mayor of Vilnius city Remigijus Šimašius, member of the Board of Rhenus Logistics Concern Stephan Peters, Chairman of the Board of the investment company Baltic Sea Property John Afseth, as well as the CEO Arūnas Bertašius of Rhenus Svoris established in the centre.

„I would like to congratulate new investments in Vilnius and also I am glad Vilnius becomes more competitive in the international market. New level of quality, modern and automated the base of logistics will strongly contribute to openness and rapidity of Vilnius“, – said the Mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius.

“We have felt the need for additional space for a long time, therefore it was decided to build a new logistics centre that would help optimize the management of warehouses and reduce operating costs. Having agreed with the Norwegian investors regarding long-term lease conditions, we started the construction. Capacities of the company’s warehouses located in different places were moved into one modern and automated centre. This will enable us to plan activities more efficiently, as well as to reduce management costs and implement the set strategic plans”, told Mr. A.Bertašius, CEO of Rhenus Svoris.

This terminal shows the growth of „Rhenus Svoris“ and all „Rhenus Group“, it will help develop our network, increase capacity and capability of Lithuanian branch“, – accents Stephan Peters, member of the board of „Rhenus Logistics“.

A spacious warehouse of the logistics centre covers more than 12 thousand m2, and another 2 thousand m2 were allocated for office premises where the administration of Rhenus Svoris settled down. A canteen and a modern rest area were installed in the premises of the office.<s></s>

The Norwegian company Baltic Sea Property AS that has invested into the construction of the logistics centre engages in long-term investments, whereas its agreement on premises lease with Rhenus Svoris is signed for a long term.
