Rhenus Project Logistics, the specialist company for project business within the Rhenus Group, has expanded its network and opened two new business sites in Asia and Africa. The branch in Shanghai launched its operations at the start of this year. Rhenus Project Logistics has also had an office in Algiers since the end of 2014.
"In our view, global expertise and local know-how need to complement each other when winning orders and organising and handling project business. We want to attract the attention of our potential customers to an even greater degree through the new business sites and provide the best possible services for the customers that we gain,” says Tobias König, Managing Director of Rhenus Project Logistics.
Rhenus Project Logistics has been organising the global transport of project loads and heavy items since 2011 by making use of the capacity available within the whole Rhenus Group. So-called turnkey projects, where the specialist handles the complete logistics chain, including pick-up and final delivery runs, are the major focus of its business operations.
The company first launched out into the North African market in the summer of 2013 when it opened an office in Tunisia. The branch in Algiers will further strengthen the presence of Rhenus Project Logistics in the Maghreb countries.
The Rhenus Group provides logistics services around the globe and has annual turnover amounting to EUR 4.1 billion. Rhenus employs over 24,000 people at more than 390 locations worldwide. The Rhenus business areas – Contract Logistics, Freight Logistics and Port Logistics – manage complex supply chains and provide a wealth of innovative value-added services.
