The VerkehrsRundschau trade magazine has presented the logistics services provider Rhenus with the 2014 Image Award in the category entitled “Industrial third-party logistics”. The CEO of the Rhenus Group, Klemens Rethmann, accepted the prize on 6 February during a gala organised by the chief editor of VerkehrsRundschau, Birgit Bauer, and the President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry, Matthias Wissmann.
The award is based on the results of the latest study entitled “Image ranking for transport and logistics services”, which the market research company Kleffmann conducted on behalf of the VerkehrsRundschau magazine. 400 managers responsible for making logistics decisions at German industrial and commercial companies were questioned about the image and prominence of 88 important brands in five logistics market segments.
The message of the study was that “the Rhenus Logistics brand is very popular with Germany’s shippers”. Rhenus emerged as the winner in the “Industrial third-party logistics” section, gaining 732 out of a possible 1,000 image points.
“I’m proud of this honour. My thanks primarily go to my employees and our loyal customers, with whom we maintain partnerships going back many years in numerous cases. Our positive reputation within the sector confirms the appreciation and confidence in our work. It’s only because of these qualities that we have the opportunity to grow with our customers and become even better on a daily basis,” Rethmann said, expressing his gratitude for the award.
The VerkehrsRundschau magazine has regularly commissioned the “Image ranking” brand study since 2002. The questionnaire also examined the image of medium-sized companies operating in the regional freight forwarding market and the reputation of the twelve most important logistics regions.
More than 96 percent of managers making logistics decisions at industrial and commercial companies indicated that the reputation of a services provider plays an important role when they place orders for transport and logistics services. The study also revealed that the image of a logistics services provider depends most of all on the following factors: its price/performance ratio, customer orientation and service quality.
The Rhenus Group provides logistics services around the globe and has annual turnover amounting to EUR 4 billion. Rhenus employs over 24,000 people at more than 350 locations worldwide. The Rhenus business areas – Contract Logistics, Freight Logistics and Port Logistics – manage complex supply chains and provide a wealth of innovative value-added services.
