As a result of extreme weather throughout the past few days, freight movements through both Dover and Calais are subject to delays. We will keep you updated as the situation develops.
The effects of Storm Brendan has brought severe weather conditions to many parts of the UK, and has led to gale force conditions in the English Channel resulting in delays to cross-Channel sailings.
At their peak, sailings were subject to delays of around 18 hours. Whilst the situation has improved, the backlog of freight transport is still causing delays of around 5-6 hours. Whilst we are aiming to minimise the impact of these delays where possible, shipments passing through Dover will likely experience delays. If you would like any updates on the current status of your shipments, please contact your local Rhenus office.
