Bulgaria declared state of emergency for one month until 13 April. Schools, shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants, and other places of business were closed. All sports events were suspended. Only supermarkets, food markets, pharmacies, banks and gas stations remain open.
Additionally, all arrivals from Italy, Spain, Iran, South Korea and China were placed under a mandatory 14-day quarantine. Bulgaria Closed its Borders to non-EU Countries, some Countries from the EU and Switzerland. It is forbidden to enter the territory of Bulgaria from 00.00 on March 20 until April 17, inclusive, to all third-country nationals at all border crossings by aircraft, sea, rail and road.
Turkey closed its borders with Greece and Bulgaria as part of measures against the novel coronavirus.
As from 18 March 2020 temporary is forbidden the entry in and passing through the territory of Bulgaria of trucks coming from Islamic Republic of Iran and trucks with registration in Islamic Republic of Iran. – please to decide whether to publish the information for Iran.
For drivers of heavy goods vehicles who are not Bulgarian citizens but are nationals of any of the following countries: People's Republic of China, Bangladesh, the Republic of India, the Republic of Maldives, the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Kingdom of Spain, Italy, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Switzerland and/or enter the territory of Bulgaria from a country in the list above, the following measure applies – they shall enter the territory of Bulgaria, unload the goods and freights, and immediately leave the territory of the country, and the time of transit through the territory of the country shall not exceed 24 hours.
Bulgarian government granted also temporary exceptions of Regulation 561/2006 to the national and international transport of goods for the period 00.00 h on 19/03 – 24.00 h on 13/04/2020 as follows:
